Darkwood ForestHenchman's road runs right through the middle of this great forest thickly forested by evergreen's, birch and oak. It's rolling hills and minor mountain ranges make it ideal privacy for ranging and does seem to be popular with the rogues for a secure hide-away. At least along the roads edge, as the forest also hosts a variety of enchantments as much as less favorable creatures. Somewhere within these forests lays hidden the Chandler Manor estate whose mistress is Valyncia Serris |

Applejack TavernThe tavern stands as the monument of a former fortress along the road to the town of Mantis Shoe. Thick walls of dew coated wood surround the two story fort that serves just about every need a weary traveler could desire to kick back from the journey. The courtyard is equipped with stables and two storage towers three stories tall at either corner of the gate. The surroundings are heavily forested with narrow trails leading to unknowns. The entire keep is overseen by Tomath Elkizar who also stands as the bar tender. |

Emerald Spring Botanical GardenOver four hundred of mist coated acres deep within the forests are surrounded by a high stone wall. The botanical garden is the pristine oasis of mysterious caretakers, equipped with green houses and luxuriant trails. Hunting here is forbidden with the fierce enforcement of guardians and bewitchments due to the mystical creatures that roam it. A gryphon well known as Balthazarr is said to roam and guardian here. |

River Bend AsylumRather far off the trail, this well meaning monastery of secluded monks features an asylum estate that will take in anything from the sick, the orphaned, the impaired, but mostly the insane. Run more like a prison, conditions are rather poor and overcrowded. |

Town North GateThree story towers act like fortresses on either side of a short, arched tunnel between two, heavy iron bars of gate that are lifted every morning, and closed at midnight. A troop of town guards house the towers and monitor the high stone, archer gapped walls on wooden walkways. Beyond is a clear strip of field between wall and forest. Within, are wide, mostly clean paths into town. An offset, square fort acts as a jailhouse for arrests just to the left and just to the right is a "guards only" tavern. The captain of the guard presiding is Olef Blackburn. |

Central VillageOnce past the town gates, the traveler is greeted by streets of homes, taverns, shops and stables. Semi-shaded in ancient trees and mostly kept in order by the town guard. Even some of the great trees appear to be taverns or homes. Things are generally peaceful here though hagglers, beggars, entertainers and thieves tend to stray down the streets from the market square. |

Market SquareThe town hosts a large square generous in trades from around the world thanks to the river it edges. Materials, weaponries, trinkets, spices, foods, virtually anything. Rumors abound the infamous thief, Thorn of the Shadow Elves has a hide out here. |

Mantis Shoe Inn and PubThis little hole in the wall tavern is rather popularly known as a place to find trouble but the house special chili is the finest around and the drinks are cheap. The owner and usual bar keep is a fiery woman named Shen. |

The Shanghai AgencyThis walled in square by the river dock offers a zoo of cages filled with people and creatures unfortunate enough to fall into the hands of the barbarians that run it. The square is centered by a story tall auction stage that also acts as the entrance to an underground, minor dungeon. Most convicted are sent here or to the Official Dungeons. The most popular attraction here is the gambling pit, where prisoners, slaves ect. may fight each other in a pit just behind the stage with the incentive of being awarded their freedom, or a partial of winnings for a simple challenger. The only way into the pit is through the dungeons as the top is caged over with heavy bars. The Agency Headmaster and barbarian chieftan is Rowan the Baneblood |

River DockLong piers reach out almost to the very center of the great, wide river where ships of all kinds of makes and sizes can find port, even those that can fly. The surrounding area offers warehouses of needs, storages and shipyards on the way into town by way of the southern gate. A well known shipping merchant here is Quintessa Delgarson |

The Palace GatesOn the eastern side of town, tall gates to a limestone wall give a peek to the generous spread of estate within. The posted guard stand proudly with their halberds - when they aren't harassing the passing pedestrians. The palace itself is nearly open house, serving as a community center that homes everything from the district judge to the visiting diplomat. |

Entrance CourtyardSurrounded by a veranda and gardening amid the swirl and bridges of a koi pond, the palace steps rise to a grand entrance of double doors. Within, a waiting hall continues down as an elaborate corridor. To the right are various offices, courts and lounges, and to the left a series of doors are open to the great hall where everyone eats. At the very end is the throne room where Baron Hesthon, who rules his town with a proverbial blind eye, holds his official court. |

The KitchensThe kitchens are well equipped for serving hosts and guests by their dozens. Three chambers of areas to cook and prepare food also have huge storage rooms and cellars. The most well known "hidden passages" lead straight from the kitchens. Most quarters for the cooks and servants are a rectangular building just outside. The Headmaster Chef and supervisor of the kitchens is Aurln Toc |

Catacombs KeepA three story tall tower rests just beyond the palace within the tree line of forest. The caretaker's of this place are a small group of monks who try to dissuade anyone from entering the endless maze of underworld below the mausoleum featured in the cellar, as much as try to keep anything "unseemly" from surfacing. The monks will gladly, however, provide healings, blessings, sanctuary or conversion to the 'Temple of Aur', a nature deity of cruelty and death. The presiding higher archy is Priestess Denai Lethen |

Mantis Shoe Royal CatacombsLong corridors are shelved with the graves mostly sealed in marble or limestone. Most are of generations of royals, warriors of honor, noteworthy magic weilders and monks and priests of Aur. There are three levels of such corridors amid mining shafts and natural spring caverns. Each level has a central cave featuring one great mausoleum and several altars. There's no telling what actually lives down here or what magics protect a tomb and the monks of Aur that tend it don't come along that often to rescue some hapless hero or thief from the consequences of their curiosity. One such consiquence is ole Mathellow |

Official DungeonsStone corridors and chambers make up individual cells and rooms. The guard have their own quarters and areas here, amid large interrogation rooms and pits for holding small crowds. The most popular ways in are through the cellar of a tower at the palace or a long tunnel beneath Shanghai Agency. |

Sheldon RiverThis great, wide river is not far from the sea and just deep enough to allow a ship as large as a small schooner. It's a rather popular trade route to a great kingdom beyond and like a few other villages, Mantis Shoe is thriving just downstream of it. Much further south of town, the forkbends of river entering the gulf feeds breathtaking wetlands. |

| You scored as The Pirating Swashbuckler. Dashing, flamboyant, extravigant, debonair! You're rather flashy aren't you? You have sarcasm down pat and don't really fit anywhere between rogues and knights. What of it? But you look great with a sword and have a great time! You're able to kick your boots up just at any ole table and make worlds of trouble. Then again, if no one's swinging off the rafters and sailing chairs across the room it just isn't a tavern is it now? |
